Telling the stories of Robin Hood and Nottingham's rebellious past...

Working with Nottingham City Council and a series of leading digital agencies we oversaw the creation of a wealth of new interactive exhibits for Nottingham Castle as part of their ambitious redevelopment project.

In Spring 2019, Sideburn Panda was appointed to run the Digital Production workstream of Nottingham Castle’s major redevelopment project.

Working closely with content specialists, exhibition designers and the fit-out team, we helped develop briefs and oversee procurement of the key production packages. We then worked over the course of the project to Exec and manage production of the different elements – collaborating closely with partner agencies to produce highly creative and engaging on-site exhibits that provide a rich visitor experience.

Delivering digital best practice in the arts sector...

Working with The Space, the commissioning agency supported by Arts Council England & the BBC, we've helped a network of associates and arts organisations deliver over 60 successful digital projects.

The Space is an organisation founded by Arts Council England and the BBC with a mission to develop great art and reach new audiences.

Since 2017, Sideburn Panda has provided digital consultancy and production support across a large number of projects and mentoring programmes. This has involved collaboration with a variety of arts organisations - working to identify content, strategy and optimisation opportunities for reaching new audiences using digital.

Marking the centenary of the First World War...

Working with Ballista Media, we developed and produced an extensive mix of digital content for the Royal British Legion. Fronted by Dan Snow, they included short-form documentary films and archive-driven 360 video content to mark the Battle of Passchendaele.

Passchendaele 100 was a season of activity and content commemorating 100 years since the Third Battle Of Ypres - one of the key moments of the First World War.

Working with Ballista Media, Sideburn Panda helped develop, then led production on, an extensive mix of digital content for the Royal British Legion's centenary offer. This included 6 short-form films for YouTube and Facebook , 7 archive-driven 360 experiences, 3 360 mini-docs and a 360 video of the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres.

All were presented by Dan Snow and featured an engaging digital-first approach to historical storytelling.

Building a suite of digital learning resources...

Working with Thackray Museum of Medicine, we helped consult on and deliver a pilot programme of work as part of their 'Open Wide' Project - developing in-house skills and creating content as part of their new digital learning offer.

In 2020, Sideburn Panda won the tender to work with Thackray Museum Of Medicine on delivery of their new digital learning offer.

Working with a specialist Learning Content Researcher, Photogrammetry Specialist and the in-house team at the museum, we helped deliver a programme of digital production work - training up the staff to produce their own 360 tours and photogrammetry-driven experiences aimed at remotely engaging with school groups who are unable to physically visit the museum.
